Quilt Guilds host quilt shows and auctions featuring members’ quilts and projects as a fund raiser for the guild.

2027 Quilters Etc Auction

The guild is planning another auction for 2027.

All proceeds go to the Quilter’s Etc Quilt Guild.

Guild Member Section

This auction is wider in scope and opens up the types of things available. Think about what items you can make. Think about where you are planning to volunteer.

  • Types of Items (tentative)
    • Bags: Glasses Cases, Reusable Shopping Bags
    • Clothing: Aprons, Quilted Hugs
    • Children: Baby Quilts, Burp Clothes
    • Holidays: Christmas Stockings, Gifts, Halloween Treat Containers, Holiday Themed Items
    • Household Items: Bowl Cozys, Casserole Dish Covers and Insulators, Coasters, Placemats, Potholders, Table Runners, Tea Towels
    • Quilts: All Sizes
  • Needed By Date: TBD
  • Volunteers: Sign ups will be taken at guild meetings.
    • Intake Specialists: People to intake items in advance. Ideally a few people in different areas.
    • Setup: Help setup before people arrive.
    • Greeters: Greet people at the door.
    • Money Takers: Takes in funds from auction winners (cash and credit).
    • Feature Areas: People willing to be in charge of feature areas.
      • Bed Turning
      • Kids Corner
      • Raffle Baskets
    • White Glove: Show visitors the backs of quilts while wearing white gloves to show the quilts have value.
    • Hospitality: Watching the back room where personal items are stored and snacks are available.
    • Security: Watching to make sure things do not walk out the door.
    • Teardown: Help teardown after the final auction.

Featured Artist: Dora Cary of Orange Dot Quilts , our featured artist, is donating a mini-quilt that will be unveiled at the auction!

Start your Mini Quilts NOW!

  • Mini Quilt Requirements
    • Max Width: 14″ x Max Length: 20″
      • If you reverse these, it will need to be hung sideways.
    • Entry has a hanging sleeve on the back.
      • Needs to be large enough to fit a dowel: 1 1/2″ to 2″ by 13 1/2″.
      • Tabs are also acceptable.
    • Entry has a makers label on the back.
      • It can be as simple as Made By <name>. It might also include the year or the location made or a title or a story behind it.

Guild Member Information

  • Mini-Quilts: Start making mini-quilts!
    • 12″x12″ to 14″x14″ mini-quilts made by guild members will be displayed at the show and then raffled off.
  • Quilt Submissions: Members are encouraged to submit up to 3 quilts to display at the show.
    • Eligibility Requirements
      • Active Guild Member: paid in full for 2023
      • Signed up as volunteer for at least 2 hours
    • Quilt Submission Info – per quilt
      • Quilt Entry Submission Form – submitted by the March 23rd Guild Meeting
      • Include a color photo of the top (printed on paper is fine) to help with show layout.
      • If submitting multiple quilts, be sure to specify your order priority on each form in case more quilts are submitted than can be displayed.
      • Note: The quilt does not need to be finished at the time of submission.
    • Quilt Requirements
      • Each entry should be a cloth bag (pillow case or other) with your name and contact information clearly attached.
      • Each quilt must have a sleeve
        • Sleeve must be 4″ high (or deep)
        • Sleeve must be width of quilt short by 2″ on each side (quilt width – 4″). If the quilt is 64″ wide, the sleeve should be 60″ wide.
        • Sleeve must be securely attached to the back for hanging.
    • KEEP you submission receipt for pick-up.
      • Upon submitting your entry for display at the show, you will be given a receipt with a description of the quilt and your name on it.
      • You MUST sign and turn in the receipt to take the quilt back. A volunteer will also sign at pick up so that there are two people verifying that you receive the correct quilt.
      • If you are unable to pick up your quilt after the show, please contact another member of the guild to collect it for you. Please supply that person with your receipt AND notify one of the quilt chairpersons that this will be the person picking up your item for you.
